Testimonies of Healing

These words are found in the Preface...

From the May 1948 issue of The Christian Science Journal

These words are found in the Preface to Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. vii): "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings." They proved infallible when the need for a new business home was unexpectedly and inexorably thrust upon us because of the sale of the property we were occupying.

The prevalent thought was gathering momentum, "There simply is no available space; there are no materials, no workmen to do the building;" but without trepidation we made a thorough canvass of the city to determine a suitable location. When we found a desirable building and location, a broker was consulted. He assured us that the property was not for sale and that the owner was unapproachable. We called several other brokers, and they all agreed that this particular property was unavailable. Another survey of the city resulted in our depositing earnest money on another building, but the proposition was refused.

While taking the necessary human footsteps, we were conscious that man is in his rightful place, though fear was attempting to control us. At this time the practitioner called our attention to these words from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 454): "Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way." Again a careful search was made, and again we deposited earnest money. After the refusal of our second offer, only three weeks remained in which to find a suitable location.
