Christian Science has indeed been to me the Comforter promised by the Master, Christ Jesus. In the year 1932 I was healed of neuritis, arthritis, low blood pressure, and anemia by reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, in connection with the Bible. In accepting the truths in these two precious books and applying the rules given therein, I was quickly and completely freed from these diseases, and they have never again presented themselves to me.
While I am grateful for the physical healings and for continuous good health throughout the years, the greatest gift which Christian Science has brought into my life is an understanding of and love for God and man. This gives me a spiritual joy and peace that passes all human understanding.
Through the application of Christian Science I am protected daily, opportunity for service in our great Cause is given me, and constant proof of God's ever-presence and power is mine. My heart sings joyously because this Science shows me how to bring my true selfhood into expression.
I am grateful for every avenue which our Leader has so wisely provided for the extension and promotion of this healing and freeing truth. My testimony would not be complete without my voicing deepest gratitude for the practitioner who steadied my first steps in Science, and who showed me how to study and to live this truth hourly and continually. I am also grateful for a close friend who has stood by me during dark human experiences, and who has known for me and with me that right where the error tried to present itself, in reality only God and His Christ were present. The way immediately grew brighter, the cross seemed lighter, and I found myself nearer the crown. The spiritual uplift brought me freedom from fear, proved that man-made laws have no control over the real man made in the image and likeness of God, and wiped out all false beliefs with the true concept of being.
My joy has been made more abounding through the privilege of class instruction, which is helping me to find the solution to every problem. My daily prayer is that I may be worthy of the name Christian Scientist.— Spartanburg, South Carolina.
