The blessings which have come to me through Christian Science have been numerous. However, there are two healings I should particularly like to relate.
For several years I had been unable to attend school or to play as other children did, and I was under the constant care of a physician. I had tried every remedy and treatment prescribed by the doctors for tuberculosis when a close friend of the family told us of Christian Science. We were willing to try it and requested treatment from a Christian Science practitioner. I was asked to read the ninety-first Psalm and to look to it for help. Immediately I was released from fear and shortly afterward from the accompanying discordant physical conditions.
Strength and health were gained completely, so that in a few weeks, when the fall term of school opened, I began my work and continued with no interruptions. Since then I have many times proved the truth of the statement in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 412): "The power of Christian Science and divine Love is omnipotent. It is indeed adequate to unclasp the hold and to destroy disease, sin, and death."
One night I had an instantaneous healing of food poisoning through Science treatment. The condition was acute, and when the practitioner was called for help, I heard the one calling on the telephone say, "Work for life." I lost consciousness, but just a little later I began to rest naturally and spent the night sleeping. The next morning I got up and took care of my duties as usual, completely healed.
I have had many instances of protection when traveling, and I invariably find the truths of Christian Science to be priceless companions.
I am deeply grateful for class instruction and for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, also for our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who gave this wonderful revelation to the whole world.— Cortland, New York.
