One Sunday afternoon I experienced very severe pains in the side of my head and nausea. A friend called a Christian Science practitioner for me, and work was taken up. On Tuesday I was able to sit up and eat a little food, but I was not entirely free from pain. Then I began to express gratitude for the practitioner and for the work that was being done for me; also I recalled many blessings and healings which I had experienced through the help of Christian Science. I felt something move in my ear, and an abscess began to drain. It drained through the balance of that week. When I returned to work the following Monday, I was entirely free, but on Tuesday I could not hear out of that ear. I was alarmed over this condition, for I have a very busy desk and I could not hear the ringing of either of the telephones on my desk; neither could I hear people when they spoke to me, unless they were very near me. Work was again taken up by the practitioner, and I am grateful to say that the healing was soon complete.
I cannot express in words my gratitude for the loving, patient work of the practitioner and for our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who gave us this practical truth whereby all our needs are met. I am especially grateful for the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, for our literature, and for all the activities of the Christian Science movement. I am also grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, and for class instruction from one of Mrs. Eddy's students.—San Francisco, California.
