Poems

For the Readers

From the January 1949 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Impregnable to mortal thought,
Father, maintain them.
Let no pseudo-mind
Suggestion, wandering idly and unsought,
Emerge from nothingness
And find
A channel for hesitance
And brief confusion.

Father, may they stand
Fearless and humble, giving utterance
To words of Truth alone.
Let no demand
Of error sway their speech or overthrow
Their calm.

So shall the full, untrammeled tide
Of Love-directed thoughts and phrases flow
With healing power,
To comfort, bless,
And guide.
