The privilege of being taught the truths of Christian Science in the Sunday School is one of the joys I shall always remember, but it was not until some years later, after many trials and difficulties had been faced, that I really appreciated the wonderful teaching that Mrs. Eddy has given us.
I had become morally and physically ill. My father urged me to try to really understand what I had been taught in the Sunday School. I heeded his loving advice and began reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy with a humble desire to know the truth. I read all day and far into the night. The next day I was filled with joy and happiness beyond words. I had glimpsed something of the great truth of being. The problem of unemployment was quickly solved. Since that time many uplifting experiences have been mine. I was freed of an internal disorder, and at the same time was instantaneously healed of the smoking habit.
A strong sense of inferiority gradually disappeared when I learned that God is the Father of all and that man is His image and likeness. This healing brought with it the added joy of church membership, true companionship, and a happy home of my own.
