With humility and deepest thankfulness to God, to Christ Jesus, and to our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, I testify to a few of the countless blessings and healings which the study and practice of Christian Science have brought to my family and me.
About twenty-seven years ago our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, was placed in my hands for the first time. The chapter on Prayer, as well as the one entitled "Marriage," occupied a great deal of my attention. The reading of the former effected my first healing, that of several forms of fear: fear of being alone at night, which was necessary at that time, due to the working hours of my husband, fear of the pain of childbirth, and dread of going to the dentist. Mrs. Eddy's explanation of the true meaning and purpose of prayer guided me safely and serenely through these different experiences.
However, it was not until years later that my spiritual understanding became sufficient to enable me to accept the full import of our Leader's teachings. My initial physical healing took place about five years ago, when a practitioner was called for help in a case of acute indigestion. These attacks, which had been recurrent for twenty years, have been completely healed through Christian Science. It is a joy to state that this was the beginning of daily and even hourly demonstrations of God's ever-loving care, and since that time I have been healed instantaneously of bad burns, cuts, and head colds. The need for eyeglasses has been overcome and a sprained ankle healed.
