Resurrection from Within

From the April 1949 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Christ rolled away the stone.

And nothing now can bar us from the light.
But we must ever keep this truth in sight,
Turning away from grief and selfishness,
Which tempt us to accept unhappiness
As something from without, not from within.
Denying self, we grow in grace and win
The blessed peace of resurrection morn,
Unending Easter as we are reborn.

Christ rolled away the stone
And pointed out the way.
We do not walk alone:
Truth lights our path today.
