I cannot find words to express my deep gratitude to our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for giving us this most practical religion, Christian Science. I could not get on without it.
Since I have known of this Science, I have had many healings, for which I am most grateful. One of my first healings made a great impression on me. I was visiting some relatives who were not interested in Science, and while with them I developed a bad cold. They were so afraid of my infecting their baby with it that they asked me to keep away from her.
I had promised to go to a Christian Science Reading Room some distance away in order to get a periodical to send to my mother, and when I got there, I asked the librarian to help me, which she lovingly did. I do not remember what she said to me, but although I had some difficulty getting home, I arrived safely; and a few hours after I returned, I found myself sitting with the baby on my lap. It was then I suddenly realized that not only had I completely forgotten about the cold, but all traces of it had entirely disappeared.
