I should like to tell of a healing of hemorrhages I received through Christian Science over four years ago. I had been under medical care and X rays, and immediate entry into a hospital was advised. At first I agreed, but on talking it over with my sister, who has been a Christian Scientist for years, I decided against it and agreed to have a talk with a friend who was a Christian Science practitioner.
I told her of my fears, and she assured me that God was my life; therefore I need fear no longer and could be healed through Christian Science treatment. The practitioner worked for me for a week, but the hemorrhages continued. On the Saturday-night of that week when I went to bed I still did not understand that the practitioner was trying to get me to forget the physical manifestations and leave all to God. However, I earnestly prayed to God to help me, and almost immediately I fell asleep.
When I awoke in the morning my sister came in the room, and I declared that I was healed. There has been no further sign of the trouble, although I have been doing strenuous work ever since. To satisfy members of my family who are not Christian Scientists, I was examined by the doctor who had previously attended me, and he could find no trace of the inharmonious condition. I have also gained about twenty pounds in weight since that time. A healing of the smoking habit took place at the same time, and I have not used tobacco in any form since.
