TRUTH UNCOVERS AND DESTROYS ERROR

From the February 1951 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Christian Science teaches that error is unreal and proves that its seeming reality is readily destroyed by the operation of divine Truth in the individual human thought. The alert student, therefore, will never neglect the salutary and liberating task of examining his thinking for whatever may be unlike God, in order that it may be seen and destroyed.

Christ Jesus uncovered sin before destroying it for himself and others. He never accepted the sinful suggestions of the carnal mind as reality. His pure spiritual perception and understanding of the allness and reality of Truth enabled him instantly to recognize, rebuke, and reject every temptation of evil for himself and prove its unreality to others. The Holy Bible bears this glowing testimony to the efficacy of the Master's healing work (Matt. 12:15): "Great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all."

Sincere students of Christian Science are eagerly striving to emulate the example of the great master Metaphysician. They are faithful in casting out the errors which are apparent to them in their own mentalities. The natural fruits of such steadfast work are evidenced in their daily lives by an ever-increasing understanding of the allness of God, good, and a corresponding decrease in their belief in the power and reality of evil.
