"COME, YE BLESSED"

From the April 1951 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Tenderly, persuasively, the Master spoke: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest...Learn of me" (Matt. 11:28, 29). And tired multitudes listened to that loving invitation and, listening, turned, followed him, and were healed.

Today the healing Christ is still offering its sheltering sanctuary to troubled humanity. One needs but to give pause to hear within his own consciousness Christ's eloquent entreaty, "Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world" (Matt. 25:34). He who, hearing, heeds that quiet inner voice and turns to Christian Science with willing heart and open mind finds now, as of old, his spiritual inheritance. He finds the blessing that is beyond compare, the comfort and peace that, like the forever Christ, are always at hand.

The decision to learn of Christ in Christian Science is the most important decision anyone can make, for it marks the turning point in his life. At this point he begins to leave the false for the true, the material for the spiritual, the bondage of matter and its accompanying beliefs of sin, sickness, sorrow, and death for the kingdom of God and its blessedness and freedom.
