"POWER BELONGETH UNTO GOD"

From the April 1951 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God," sang the Psalmist (Ps. 62:11).

The newcomer to Christian Science sometimes asks: "Why should an all-powerful God allow so many centuries to pass before revealing His nature to humanity through Christ Jesus? And why should more long centuries have elapsed before the scientific explanation of the divine power was made available through Christian Science, as revealed to Mary Baker Eddy?"

"God hath spoken once." Divine Mind's work is done, needing no subsequent revisions or additions. Mind does not remain aloof from its perfect, complete expression, man, for an aeon or an instant. It is always and unstintingly revealing itself to and through the perfect man. Its revelation is one and undivided, primordial and eternal. No slightest part of its radiant creation has ever been deprived of the full light and loveliness—the full spiritual evidence—of God's all-power.
