Christian Science has brought many blessings into my life, and for this I am deeply grateful. Five generations of my family have had the privilege of membership in The Mother Church and its branch churches.
Through the guidance of my grandmother I attended the Christian Science Sunday School for several years, and the seeds of truth were planted in my consciousness. After leaving the Sunday School at the age of twenty years, I strayed away from its teachings. However, I was led back into the fold some years later through my daughter, who was then a girl in her teens. She had been under the care of doctors for some time, for I was told that without medical care she would never mature normally into womanhood. She was placed in the hands of a specialist, who gave her a series of glandular injections. Instead of being benefited, she grew worse, gaining an abnormal amount of weight.
At this point I became discouraged over her condition. My thought turned to God and Christian Science once again. About a year or so later, when my daughter and I were in San Francisco, I was led to visit a Christian Science practitioner whom I had known many years before. He lovingly assured me that I had nothing to fear and that God would, in the words of the Psalmist, "perfect that which concerneth me" (Ps. 138:8). Christian Science treatment was asked for and given with wonderful results. About three months afterwards my daughter matured normally.
