Christian Scientists glorify God when they give testimonies of healing at the regular Wednesday meetings held by Christian Science churches and societies. That certainly is not the only way they may offer praise to divine Love, but it is one positive and indispensable way.
Mary Baker Eddy had something very significant to say about bearing witness to Truth, and she put it in the Manual of The Mother Church under the subject "Guidance of Members." Under the heading "Testimonials" she has written (Art. VIII, Sect. 24): "'Glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's' (St. Paul). Testimony in regard to the healing of the sick is highly important. More than a mere rehearsal of blessings, it scales the pinnacle of praise and illustrates the demonstration of Christ, 'who healeth all thy diseases' (Psalm 103:3). This testimony, however, shall not include a description of symptoms or of suffering, though the generic name of the disease may be indicated."
It would be very worth while and helpful for those who give testimonies, or desire to give them, to study thoroughly this divinely wise statement of our Leader's. Much is said in a few words. The unfoldment of its wisdom in individual consciousness will surely bear fruit in truly glorifying God through blessing our fellow men.
