During World War II my husband, our two children, and I did not have a home of our own, and the necessity of living with others made me very despondent and frustrated. My mother, who is a Christian Scientist, advised me to seek help from a Christian Science practitioner. The help was lovingly given, and I am very grateful to her for her patience, because many times I became discouraged, and sometimes resentful, when I heard that other people were using unfair means in securing houses. I studied every reference the practitioner gave me and took the human footsteps as I saw them, but the problem was not solved.
One morning while I was in the practitioner's office, we knew that the work was finished. All sense of frustration and impatience disappeared, and I felt quiet, calm, peaceful, and confident that with God all things are possible.
One day when my husband came home from work, he said that we had been offered a large flat in a house belonging to his firm and that it was situated near his place of work. We were given three weeks' free rent while we were getting settled, and it was wonderful how supply was demonstrated during the time of moving.
