It is with great appreciation of Mary Baker Eddy that I express my gratitude for Christian Science. Some years ago a friend talked to me of this Science, but I thought no more of it. I was suffering from boils and had had medical treatment for years, but with no satisfactory results. At last I remembered my friend and wrote her, asking for some literature, which she lovingly sent. I then secured a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and began to read it. Through The Mother Church I was put in touch with a practitioner in the United States. I continued reading and became so interested that I do not know exactly when the boils disappeared. This healing was experienced over sixteen years ago, and there has been no recurrence of the complaint.
A short while ago while doing some repair work in the bathroom of our house, I received a deep cut in my foot. My wife bandaged it for me. The next two days were holidays, and the following day I went to work as usual. The second day back I had a high fever, and although I wanted to work for myself, I could not concentrate. I could not get in touch with a practitioner, so I asked a friend, who is a Christian Scientist, to work for me. During that night the fever continued, but in the early hours of the morning it left me and I slept soundly until my usual time for getting up. I awoke quite lit and went to work as usual. I am very grateful to God for the help which was given me.
My hope is that I may help others as I have been helped. I have enjoyed membership in The Mother Church for many years, and I am now also a member of a branch church.— Santos, Brazil.
