It was my privilege to be a member of a Christian Science Organization and to serve on its various committees during my college years. I am especially grateful for the privilege of serving on its lecture and meta-physical committees on the fuller understanding of the meaning of service and the great inspiration that came to me as a result of this work, I am deeply grateful.
Christian Science has played such a tremendous part in my life that my joy knows no bounds in expressing my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy, who revealed the truth to this age. I was born in a home where Christian Science was always practiced, and it has met my every need. I early learned to know God as Father-Mother, Love, and man as His expression. In our home God was and is our only physician, our protector, our comforter. So-called children's diseases, measles, mumps, and whooping cough, were met quickly through our complete reliance on God. I have also experienced quick healings of sprains and a dislocated shoulder. Main times the name of the difficulty was not known, but on all occasions healing was complete.
During my first year at college I was engaged in laboratory work, and one day a glass tube which I was working with shattered in my hand, badly cutting my thumb. Great anxiety was expressed by members of the staff, who insisted that I leave immediately to receive medical attention. I left the building, but went, however, to my room. I tried to cast out the sense of fear that presented itself, and I asked for help in Christian Science, which was immediately given. A loose bandage was placed about the finger, and I turned my thought away from the material evidence as best I could.
