It is with joy and gratitude that I bear witness to the healing power of Christian Science. I did not come into Science for physical healing, but because I felt disillusioned, insecure, and unhappy. As I gained an understanding of God as unlimited, changeless Love, the feeling of insecurity vanished, and I knew that I was safe in His love.
A physical healing that stands out was that of migraine. It was a slow healing, but I learned many lessons in faith, courage, and patience. I shall always be grateful for the loving and patient practitioners who helped me at different times during that period.
My husband and I have experienced many instances of divine protection and supply. One in particular was that of a debt we incurred at the time we purchased a business, having promised to pay the debt within a year. We spent many hours with the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings, together with the Concordances, trying to gain a clearer idea of man's true substance. As the day for payment drew near and we were still far from being able to pay the full amount, I was tempted many times to be fearful. However, it was pointed out to me that I could be grateful for the amount we already had paid off and that we could rely on our Father-Mother God to show us the way out of our indebtedness.
About this time I attended my association, and I came away with an assurance of the allness of God and of the completeness of His creation. All fear disappeared. Just before the date the money was due, from a completely unexpected source my husband received a sum of money making it possible for us to complete the payment. Thus we proved the truth of Mrs. Eddy's statement in Science and Health (p. 444), "Step by step will those who trust Him find that 'God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.'"
I am grateful for all the opportunities to grow Spiritward which membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church has given me, also for class instruction from a consecrated, humble servant of God. I am deeply grateful to God for Christ Jesus, our Master, and for our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy. Indeed, "my cup runneth over" (Ps. 23:5)— Harrisville, New York.
I wish to verify my wife's testimony regarding the two experiences mentioned. I should also like to express my gratitude for the blessings I have received through the application of my small knowledge of Christian Science.—
