With sincere humility and deepest gratitude to God I offer my testimony in the hope that it will encourage someone to go forward, just as testimonies of others have encouraged me.
I took up the study of Christian Science about thirteen years ago, and since that time my family and I have received many physical healings and other blessings through its application. I had suffered from severe headaches nearly all my life, and as I grew older the attacks became more severe, necessitating my spending at least two days every week in bed, unable to bear having anyone enter the room. I was seriously contemplating suicide, which I thought was the only way out of so much suffering, in spite of the fact that I had three little children who needed me.
It was at this point that Christian Science was introduced to me by a woman whom I scarcely knew, but who had discerned my great need. I was very doubtful as to its healing power, but promised her that I would give it a fair trial. I felt that I had nothing to lose by doing so, since the doctors had been unable to give me even temporary relief and gave no encouragement whatever in regard to a permanent healing. My friend sent me some Christian Science literature and explained how I could get a practitioner to help me. I immediately wrote to one who lived about eighty-five miles away. Within five or six weeks I was entirely free.
