Words alone cannot express my gratitude for Christian Science, of which I have been a student for several years. Blessings beyond my power to describe have come to me through the study and application of this Science, and many healings have been experienced. Some, which were accomplished through the help of loving practitioners, have been outstanding; others came about through my own understanding of the healing truth.
Early in 1947 I was stricken with arthritis of the spine and at times lost the use of my limbs. At what seemed a very critical time the practitioner who was helping me recommended that I make arrangements to attend my association meeting, which was being held in a city about four hundred and fifty miles from where we then lived. At first I could not see how I could make it, but my wife and I agreed to try. The practitioner and another friend accompanied us. Only their continuous reflection of God's love made the trip possible, and the love reflected at the association meeting is something I shall never forget.
I stayed at a Christian Science rest home in that city for a few days after the meeting and felt the Christ-spirit more than at any other time in my life. My improvement was rapid. In about thirty days I was completely healed and was out attending to business. I have been unusually active since this healing, driving my car often as much as a thousand miles a week, walking up and down stairways, and lifting heavy containers of samples, with no bad effects. According to mortal mind standards of reckoning, I have long since passed retirement age.
