My first healing in Christian Science was of a disease which the doctors called incurable. For a year and a half I had medical treatment, but since no progress was made, I was sent to a large city for a special examination. There I was told that I had only two or three months to live.
Changing to a Christian Science practitioner for treatment, I received immediate help; but the complete healing did not take place for some three years. I was so mesmerized by the word incurable that I could not get it out of my thought. At last I said to the argument of incurability and death, "Well, die if you want to, but you can't kill man, because God is the Life of man, and Life cannot die."
After that the mesmeric thought of incurability was not quite so forceful or frequent, and it gradually grew less and less until it no longer came. I improved physically and became well and was able to do my work. This healing took place about forty years ago and has been permanent.
