"Ephphatha!" Be opened,
Said Jesus, looking up to heaven.
And he who had been deaf, with speech impeded,
Now heard the Master, and his mandate heeded.
And straightway perfect speech was given.
"Ephphatha!" Be opened,
O thought, to heavenly consciousness.
Reject all man-made verdicts and opinion:
Claim in God's name the freedom and dominion
Which as His likeness you possess.
