Nearly fifty years ago Christian Science was brought to my attention. Feeling in great need of help to overcome fear and worry, I asked for aid from a Christian Science practitioner and received immediate freedom from these beliefs. Recognizing the good which I had received, my husband started to study Science also. I have been truly grateful for this, as it has meant an undivided household, with each one helping the other to remain steadfast, sometimes in the face of great difficulties.
We have seen many healings in our family. My father-in-law at the age of seventy was completely healed of paralysis after having three strokes, although a medical prediction had been made that a third stroke would be fatal, in two weeks after the third stroke he was entirely free. This healing was accomplished without the help of a practitioner by our holding steadfastly to the truth as given to us in the Bible and in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.
Pneumonia, rheumatism, and smallpox in a very severe form have all yielded to the power of this great truth. Broken bones have been reset without surgery. About two years ago I was healed of internal injuries through the loving work of a practitioner. This healing was accomplished through absent treatment, the practitioner being many miles away at the time.
