Testimonies of Healing

These words from the Bible (Isa. 26:3),...

From the March 1953 issue of The Christian Science Journal

These words from the Bible (Isa. 26:3), "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee," truly describe the result of having one's mind stayed on God. In other words, the result of sincere and conscientious study of the Bible and of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy does indeed result in perfect peace and joy. Gratefully I testify to having been able to prove the truth declared in the above quotation from the Bible. Each individual may prove it for himself, because, as we read in Science and Health (p. 13), "Love is impartial and universal in its adaptation and bestowals."

I first experienced this perfect peace of which the Bible speaks while I was attending high school. At that time my mother was healed in a few days through Christian Science of what the doctors said was sclerosis of the liver, which they were unable to cure. After her healing I attended the Christian Science Sunday School, and many physical and school problems were worked out for me with the help of Christian Science.

The seed of Truth that was sown in the Sunday School always remained with me. However, after graduating from college I accepted suggestions of material pleasures and remedies. After a few years of this material thinking a parasitic condition of the skin developed and did not yield to months of medical treatment, but instead grew increasingly worse.
