As my previous testimony appeared in...

From the July 1953 issue of The Christian Science Journal

As my previous testimony appeared in the Christian Science Sentinel of May 26. 1928, another one is long overdue. Christian Science has been my only physician for over thirty-seven years. Early in my study of it I made a practice of rising early each day to read the Lesson-Sermon set forth in the Christian Science Quarterly. To this practice I attribute many blessings.

Christian Science has healed me of stomach trouble, sick headaches, constipation, colds, and intestinal influenza. Through the help of a practitioner a spinal injury, which caused severe pain, was completely healed without my missing one day at the office. I have been protected innumerable times from contagious diseases by studying the ninety-first Psalm and the article entitled "Contagion" in "Miscellaneous Writings" by Mrs. Eddy (pp. 228, 229). Insomnia and fatigue have been overcome by the understanding of what Mrs. Eddy writes on page 218 of Science and Health, "You do not say a wheel is fatigued; and yet the body is as material as the wheel." Lost and stolen articles have been quickly recovered when the truth has been applied; and I have been protected from traffic accidents over a period of many years. Numerous erroneous qualities of thought have been overcome; among them have been frustration, dissatisfaction with my environment, and a negative, moody disposition.

Faced with the possible loss of our business and a sense of great disappointment at the sudden passing of my beloved husband, I felt almost overwhelmed. With the loving help of a practitioner and a more consecrated study of the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings I gradually gained my freedom from grief, and the business situation was harmoniously adjusted. Our Christian Science periodicals and lectures were a great blessing to me. More regular attendance at our church services, especially at the Wednesday testimony meetings, brought me great comfort. Many times I went to church feeling weary and heavy laden, but I always came away with a song in my heart.
