Christian Science has been my only help for over fifty years. Before I heard of it, I had been earnestly praying that if there was a religion which heals the sick as Jesus did, God would show me where to find it. I was beautifully guided into a Christian Science practitioner's home, where I took care of her two little children. They taught me Mrs. Eddy's hymn beginning, "Shepherd, show me how to go" (Poems, p. 14), and I felt that every word of it was meant for me.
I was convinced that Christian Science would make me a well woman so that I would not be a burden to my family, and it did. While reading Mrs. Eddy's writings I was healed of a back difficulty and a longstanding cough. The mother of the little family read to me, helped me when I was in need, and showed me how to use Christian Science. I was given the privilege of studying any of her books whenever I had time to read.
Because I was eager to learn something about Mrs. Eddy, I studied her book entitled "Retrospection and Introspection." Here I learned something of Mrs. Eddy's experience and saw how God had helped her. I felt that I had just begun to live. Former things passed away, and each day I gained a little more spiritual understanding.
