Christian Science came to the world as a new tongue, destined to break through the limits and barriers of human language and speech. Those who daily prove its healing power do not depend upon stereotyped phrases or the mere letter of Science. In Christian Science, prayer is not rote or ritual. In this religion prayer is constant, conscious communion with God. It is continuing spiritual awareness of divine Love's presence and power. It is consecrated, unceasing thinking and living in the knowledge of the beauty and holiness of Soul.
Prayer in Christian Science is the new tongue of Spirit, the Word of God expressed. Such prayer is with power, for it is the revelation of God to mankind, the realization of the allness and perfection of God, Principle, and the ever-present harmony and completeness of the real man as God's expression.
Christ Jesus said to his disciples (Mark16:15, 17): "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.... And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues."
