Immortal Music

From the December 1956 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The rhythm of the spheres is manifest
In gracious balance, order, symmetry,
Sustained in perfect action, holy rest
With no inertia or inharmony.
The cadences of heaven reach the ear
Attuned to Spirit, God, the One and All,
And where eternal melodies appear
There is no earthly pull, no rise or fall.
No mad confusion or drab monotone
Prevails, no chaos wild exerts its dream—
Celestial notes bring harmony alone,
Like pearl-clear tones with Soul's majestic theme.
The Mind which ordered heaven sends its song
Through all creation, deathless, pure, and strong.
