"BEHOLD YOUR GOD!"

From the May 1956 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In his prophecy of Jehovah's deliverance of Israel from exile, Isaiah began by voicing God's comfort to His people. Then in an effort to lift their thought to a higher appreciation of God's presence and power and to awaken them to a greater sense of spiritual activity he directed (40:9), "O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!"

The Israelites had made many mistakes, yet Isaiah's unfailing trust in God had helped them to prove beyond measure God's presence and power to protect, correct, and guide. They were ready and willing to respond to Isaiah's call. The Bible is full of similar experiences and incidents, all revealing how spiritually-minded men and women have responded to that clarion call, "Behold your God!"

As a result of deep, consecrated study of the Bible a book has been written, containing a clear and profound exposition of Deity. This is the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Christian Scientists everywhere value this textbook and are ever grateful to Mrs. Eddy for the practical and demonstrable truths it reveals. Daily they study it, together with the King James Version of the Bible, in the Lesson-Sermons outlined in the Christian Science Quarterly.
