Christ Walks Earth's Troubled Sea

From the May 1956 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I shall be still today,
That I may know
Christ walks earth's troubled sea
Of anxious thought
To calm unrest.
Then in the silence
Of the "Peace, be still"
The Christ will bid me "Come."
And I shall leave
My false, confining fears
And doubt's uncertainties,
To walk across the waves
Of mortal thought—
Fixing my gaze
On Truth's realities.

I cannot fail,
For if I doubt or fear
When winds are boisterous,
I grasp anew
The outstretched hand
Of God's omnipotence.
