OUR DUTY TO OUR LEADER

AS the day of the Annual Meeting of The Mother Church approaches, it is well for Christian Scientists to count their blessings and to acknowledge the debt of gratitude which they owe to their beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. Christian Scientists strive daily not to forget their duty to Mrs. Eddy, nor to neglect to fulfill it.

The testimony of our Leader makes it clear that she considered herself to be the God-inspired revelator to mankind of the Science of Christianity. It is important for the progress of the individual as well as for the Cause of Christian Science that students of Christian Science acknowledge Mrs. Eddy as its Discoverer and Founder and the only Leader of the Christian Science movement.

Our Leader referred to herself as a scribe who was acting under the orders of divine Love. In her poem "Christ and Christmas" she writes (Poems, p. 39),
