No similarity exists between divine dominion and personal domination. God-given dominion springs from the impulsion of the one Mind, which holds its creation in mighty and eternal control. Personal domination is a result of human will yielding to the enticements of the carnal mind, in which there is not a single element of good, or God. Dominion and personal domination never blend. Dominion is spiritually tangible, the omnipresence of Truth. Domination is unreal and temporal, never present in Truth or actuality.
Christian Science offers to humanity the divine understanding that shows men how to honor their true nature as the sons and daughters of God, how to grasp man's divine heritage, and how to live and demonstrate man's dominion over all the earth.
The first chapter of Genesis states the completeness of God's glorious creation, the heaven, the seas, the earth, every living creature, every growing thing, and reveals His highest idea, man. The Bible record then declares that God gave man dominion over all the earth. From the beginning, that is, from everlasting, dominion is a quality of divine Mind, remains in Mind, and never leaves perfect and infinite Mind for the unreal realm of the carnal mind. This is a foundational point in Christian Science, and upon this basis rest all spiritual power and proof.
