For many years now the testimonies of healing in our periodicals have been a blessing, and this is being written with a sincere hope that the following experience of mine can be of help to others.
When I was serving with the armed forces in Korea, there was much complaint among the men about the great quantities of dust, particularly along the unpaved, but heavily traveled, roads. I had to do quite a bit of traveling, and as I listened to the conversation of others, my nose and throat became irritated to the extent that on one occasion I manifested distressing symptoms. As a Christian Scientist, I knew that I had to do prayerful healing work rather than depend on the commonly employed medical treatments. The results were most gratifying.
I recalled that Mary Baker Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 545), "Truth has but one reply to all error,—to sin, sickness, and death: 'Dust [nothingness] thou art, and unto dust [nothingness] shalt thou return.'" Thus, I reasoned that dust is nothingness. I then recalled Mrs. Eddy's words on page 563 of Science and Health, "But why should we stand aghast at nothingness?"
