On page 410 of Science and Health, our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, writes: "Every trial of our faith in God makes us stronger. The more difficult seems the material condition to be overcome by Spirit, the stronger should be our faith and the purer our love."
Complete reliance on God and faith in the assurance that His promises are kept if we do our part have been effective many times in my experience. Doing our part simply means following God's commands as given in Micah (6:8), "He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?"
In September, 1955, an ugly growth appeared close to the lobe of my left ear. In the beginning this did not concern me very much, because there was no particular discomfort from it. However, as time went on, the growth became very large and angry-looking in appearance.
