It has been twenty-one years since my testimony appeared in the Christian Science Sentinel, and I feel it is again time to express gratitude to our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. Her clear, spiritual reflection of God, divine Principle, is making it possible for mankind to awaken to the truth and thus be freed from the darkness of material beliefs. There have been many opportunities for me to listen to God more closely, lean upon His wisdom for guidance, supply, and happiness.
Because of unforeseen circumstances at the time of the purchase of a large farm, promised financial help was withdrawn. It was necessary that a substantial sum of money be paid within a short time. My husband and I prayed earnestly for right, spiritual unfoldment. Thoughts of resentment because of the withdrawal of the promised money were cast out. Consciousness was purified, and absolute trust in God was made foremost. As the days passed, these words from the Bible comforted me (Ex. 14:13): "Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord."
The entire amount of money was offered us at a high rate of interest, and it was accepted with gratitude. Within the year another offer was presented at a lower rate of interest, so that refinancing was possible. Since that time, a clearer understanding of the one divine Mind, controlling the spiritual universe, including man, has opened the way for the demonstration of God's affluence in our human affairs.
