From the February 1959 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Early in December, the Normal class in the Board of Education was held. The class convenes on the first Wednesday of December every third year, as our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, provided in Article XXX, Section 1, of the Manual of The Mother Church.

The teacher of the 1958 class was Mrs. Helen Wood Bauman, C. S. B., of Boston, Massachusetts. Mrs. Bauman became interested in Christian Science while a resident of Missouri and served the movement in various capacities there. Since 1948 she has been an Associate Editor of The Christian Science Journal, the Christian Science Sentinel, and The Herald of Christian Science in its several editions. She has had long experience as a practitioner and teacher of Christian Science.

In accordance with the provisions of the Manual, there were thirty pupils in the class. It was made up of the pupils of twenty-seven different teachers. They came from England and Sweden and from the following states: Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Texas, and Wisconsin.
