We are happy to announce a new full-length motion picture in color entitled "The Mother Church in Action." The picture shows the expanding scope and progress of the world-wide activities of The Mother Church. It will bring inspiration, information, and enlightenment to everyone interested in Christian Science.
It is hoped that not only all church members and their families will see it, but also all those who attend our church services. The picture will be available to all Christian Science branch churches, societies, and college organizations. It may be shown in church auditoriums, Sunday School rooms, and other suitable locations. Although two or more churches may unite in showing the film, it is hoped that, if possible, each branch of The Mother Church will show the film at some time for its own congregation. Distribution of the prints will be handled by the Committees on Publication, who will have complete information regarding arrangements for showings. Requests for the film should be sent to the Committee on Publication for each state, province, or country.
The theme of the picture is based on the definition of "Church," given on page 583 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. The presentation shows how the various activities of The Mother Church are carrying forward the healing and redemptive mission outlined in this definition. It brings out the continuing leadership of Mary Baker Eddy through the inspired provisions of the Manual of The Mother Church. It shows the unity of unselfed purpose which inspires the entire Christian Science movement.
