"To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to–day is big with blessings," writes Mrs. Eddy in the Preface to Science and Health (p. vii). The truth of this statement is just as wonderful to me today as it was many years ago when I first began to study this Science of divine Mind.
Mrs. Eddy also says in Science and Health (p. 66), "Through great tribulation we enter the kingdom." I, indeed, suffered many things before I was ready to accept Truth. I had been given a copy of Science and Health a number of years previously, and when pressed by trouble, I would try to read this book, only to lay it aside again.
When I finally did accept Christian Science and began to lean, "on the sustaining infinite," many blessings and healings followed for our whole family, including the overcoming of blood poisoning, dropsy, sties, scarlet fever, earache, warts, tonsillitis, streptococcic throat, ivy poisoning, severe cuts, and broken bones.
