Christian Science means everything to...

From the July 1960 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Christian Science means everything to me, for through it I am learning of my glorious relationship to God, my Life. The proper application of this Science not only will heal suffering of any kind, but will gradually and gently lead us out of darkness into heaven, or the understanding of God as All.

Although reared in Christian Science, I strayed into confusing paths and was led back to Truth through many trials. During my college days I suffered from bronchial pneumonia. A friend informed my mother, who arrived in time to hear doctors declare that I might not live through the night. In the morning I was still considered so dangerously ill that the doctors objected to my mother's desire to remove me from the institution.

However, through the earnest prayer of a Christian Science practitioner, the doctors yielded, and I was taken by ambulance to my own apartment. There my mother stayed by my bedside, reading and praying. Day by day I awakened more and more from this false dream, and in six days, to the astonishment of unbelieving classmates, I was back on campus.
