I should like to express my gratitude for the many blessings Christian Science has brought into my life. I am particularly grateful at this time for an increasing understanding of God as Father-Mother.
A few years ago I was completing my term as Second Reader in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, when both my parents passed on within eight months of each other. At the time of the first experience I was beautifully sustained through Christian Science. However, the shock of the second one seemed to reverse my previous demonstration.
For several weeks I struggled with a sense of grief and separation. Then one Sunday morning as I was preparing to read the Sunday service I caught a glimpse of the fatherhood and motherhood of Love and of man's God-given authority. I saw that I did not need to struggle, because this authority gave me the ability to see and accept only the truth concerning man. I saw that all God's ideas are my real sisters and brothers. I was instantaneously healed of grief and at the same time of a severe cold. I was also able to go on the platform a few minutes later and perform my duties with complete freedom.
