I did not find Christian Science; it found me through the kindness of a tenant in my apartment who was a student of this religion.
The first time I ever attended a Christian Science service I saw on a wall inside this particular church these words of Christ Jesus: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matt. 11:28). Every one of these words I had to have translated into my own language, since I could not read any English at that time. I came seeking and found the promised rest that I needed. I learned English through studying the Christian Science textbook. Through this study regeneration in my thinking and actions began.
Self-will, self-righteousness, and the like, were and are still being replaced with that which is acceptable in the sight of God. As a result of my more spiritualized thinking, I discarded glasses and have not needed them since.
