Man, made in the image and likeness of God, is spiritually free. His Life is divine Love. He is supplied with the capacity to live as Love's expression by Life itself. Energy, art, health, vision, are given, and harmony and joy are added, without measure.
The real man is perpetually free. Men gain a sense of freedom through right decisions. Those who choose to serve God, Life, Love, find themselves in His service in the degree of the sincerity of their desire. Those who choose to serve mortal, material sense find themselves in its service. As Paul has written in Romans (6: 16), "Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?"
To know freedom, one must choose a right sense of energy. Material sense claims that energy is a force inherent in matter. Spiritual sense sees energy as a quality of divine Life. One who accepts the claims of material sense concerning energy finds himself to that extent enslaved by the laws of material energy. These laws insist that bodily energy is dependent upon organization, upon the harmonious functioning of the parts of the body, all of which are material.
