To the writer, composer, artist, indeed, to anyone engaged in creative activity, the term "composition" means the arranging of words, notes, outline, color, and so on, to express an idea. Such an idea appears in human consciousness and assumes form as it unfolds or develops.
The creative worker will surely agree that the successful development of an idea, or concept, manifested through some talent we express is in proportion to the qualities of thought employed. It is important, then, that we give consideration to the qualities we employ, to their source and their type as they relate to man as he is understood in Christian Science.
In speaking of the one creator and one creation, Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health (pp. 502, 503): "The creative Principle—Life, Truth, and Love—is God. The universe reflects God." And she explains, "This creation consists of the unfolding of spiritual ideas and their identities, which are embraced in the infinite Mind and forever reflected." To be infinite is to be absolute, and to be absolute is to be total, to comprise the whole. Since Mind is infinite, it must follow that Mind must be total and therefore the only source. Thus we find all right ideas and their distinctive qualities in this infinite, total, and only Mind.
