One who thinks from the Christianly scientific standpoint has much to be grateful for. There is evidence at hand to show that the universe is governed by Principle and that this Principle is Love. There is further evidence to prove that one who understands the divine Principle of the universe may demonstrate Love's perfect government.
From a human standpoint, there is evidence to indicate that the universe is governed by chance or evolutionary forces having no resemblance to Love. This evidence would give cause for apprehension. But a Christian Scientist weighs the evidence or puts it to the test of demonstration, drawing conclusions to form the basis for further demonstration. The practice of Christian Science proves the truth of evidence emanating from Principle's perfect government and the falsity of evidence of material laws or forces. It proves further that one who appears to be a victim of evil laws or forces may find freedom from them by understanding and applying the true law, the law of God.
Health is the normal condition of man; but many seem to be sick as the result of laws of biology or chemistry or of laws as yet unknown. When one understands that Principle, not matter, constitutes the laws which govern man and when one applies these true laws, disease is healed. The evidence which appears to human consciousness alleging that the victim has broken certain material laws of health is met in Christian Science with the spiritual consciousness of one Principle constituting all law and that law good. Love's law of health holds man in the image of Love.
