We seem to be in a material body and living in a material world. But through the earnest study of Christian Science we learn that since God is the only Mind, true existence is divinely mental or spiritual.
The control exercised by thought over the body and the environment is evident; but thoughts which rest upon the belief that life, substance, and intelligence are material are not real thoughts. God, Spirit, is all Life, all substance, all Mind; so only spiritual thoughts have power.
Sickness, sin, lack—all discord—result from the acceptance of false thoughts. One can, then, be freed from the effect of wrong thinking by understanding the nature of the divine Mind and man's relation to this Mind. As one realizes that in reality he is spiritual, perfectly reflecting the Mind which is Truth, he sees the unreality of wrong thoughts and their effect and rejoices in the fact that perfect Mind is ever infinitely expressed and that divine Mind's power is the only power.
