In October, 1939, a testimony of mine...

From the June 1962 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In October, 1939, a testimony of mine appeared in the Journal, and I feel it is time to express again my sincere and grateful thanks for the teachings of Christian Science.

Many healings have taken place in the intervening years; one was a healing of the use of tea and coffee. At a Wednesday evening testimony meeting in a branch church these words were read: "Mind is the master of the corporeal senses, and can conquer sickness, sin, and death" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 393). The next day this statement kept coming into my thought, and then the still small voice said to me that I was to stop taking tea and coffee. I recognized it to be a divine command; so I immediately obeyed it and have not taken them ever since.

Now I wish to relate a healing that took place at the passing on of my husband at the beginning of 1960. I should like to mention that I had come out of the Jewish faith when I took up the teachings of Christian Science, and through these teachings alone was I able to rise above the sense of grief. I can truly say that my house was not a house of mourning.
