"A PROPHET'S REWARD"

From the October 1963 issue of The Christian Science Journal

A Prophet of Bible times was often called a "man of God." He lived in such close relationship with God as to commune with Him consciously, to hear His directing voice, and to communicate to the people the very Word of God. In times of national stress a "man of God" was divinely raised up to carry out his special office of speaking to the people in God's name.

Mrs. Eddy communed with God as naturally as did the prophets, and she discovered Christian Science, which is the divinely ordained prophecy to this age. On page 585 of Science and Health she defines "Elias" as, "Prophecy; spiritual evidence opposed to material sense; Christian Science, with which can be discerned the spiritual fact of whatever the material senses behold; the basis of immortality."

By recognizing Christian Science to be divine prophecy, the students of this Science are proving that acceptance of its teachings brings great rewards, the greatest of which is the understanding of God as omnipotent, divine Love; infinite, omnipresent Spirit; of man as His image and likeness; and of matter and all materiality as existing only in belief. Protection, supply, healing, and regeneration continue to come to these students as they conscientiously, persistently, and joyously apply the powerful rules of Science in their human experience.
