STOCKPILES of nuclear armaments continue to grow. The number of nations possessing these armaments increases. The problem of sensible and honorable negotiations for disarmament remains unsolved. With these pictures before us, we may be tempted to look ahead with apprehension. But if we think rightly, we shall look ahead with joy.
The Bible tells us, "The day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up" (II Pet. 3:10). The Bible also tells us; "Whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever" (Eccl. 3: 14). The logical conclusion is that the elements which shall melt are the false mental elements which produce war and destruction, not the spiritually mental elements of God or of His creation. Right thinking finds joy in knowing that God, the all-powerful One, will, with Truth's coming, destroy all that He did not create—all discord—but the harmony of God's universe is indestructible.
While there is joy in the truth for the right thinker, there is sorrow for him who believes the elements of his life to be material. And the need for careful examination of thought in order that one may be certain it is right is brought to the attention of all thinkers. Right thinking regards the eternal as real and the temporal as unreal.
