DAILY ADVENTURE AND THE LESSON-SERMON

From the May 1963 issue of The Christian Science Journal

MANY people—the mature as well as the young—want more adventure in their daily lives. They long for relief from tedium and routine. But they need not yearn in vain for true adventure, which is spiritual. It may be found through study of the Bible and of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and her other writings.

The truths revealed in these great books, when applied in one's daily life, launch one into the infinity of divine consciousness. There man is forever satisfied, for his identity and activity include all the wonders God has wrought, expressed in His image and likeness. Christian Science brings the greatest adventure humanity can have: finding divine Mind to be the All-in-all and man to be God's idea, or reflection. This stupendous revelation substantiates two definitions of "adventure" found in Webster's Dictionary, "a remarkable experience" and "a bold undertaking."

Christian Science enables those who faithfully study and apply it to prove in ever-increasing degree that as God's reflection man manifests Mind's omniscience in the ability to know all that can really be known and Truth's omnipotence in the power of dominion over error. The joy of Life, the glory of Love, and the harmony of Soul are inherent in man and therefore realizable here and now.
